Fanm Kreyol as an organization believes in education and promoting women in leadership. Shirley Chisholm stated it best, “You don't make progress by standing on the sidelines, whimpering and complaining. You make progress by implementing ideas.” Fanm Kreyol believes in implementing those ideas to empower Haitian women to seek/implement those changes they aspire to see in their community. However, before one can seek change in her community she must acquire the necessary skills to do so. As Fanm Kreyol, we believe those skills are ascertain through community service, leadership engagement, and most importantly education.

In continuing with Fanm Kreyol’s strive to promote education and leadership amongst women of Haitian descent, the Graduate Community Chapter of Fanm Kreyol, Inc. sponsor an annual scholarship. Academic Excellence Award is awarded to two collegial women of Haitian decent who are devoted to educational excellence and public service.
