Fanm Kreyol, Inc. was founded based on the vision of Marie Grandoit and Ruth Georges. After witnessing the lack of recognition, appreciation and unity amongst Haitian women, they founded Fanm Kreyol, Inc. to empower and unify. The organization seeks to promote women in leadership and highlight the importance of education.

With a promising future in mind, the founders instilled the mission, pillars and purpose of Fanm Kreyol, Inc. as members strive to create a positive movement through empowering Haitian women, community enrichment and civic engagement.
By having a network of professional and educated women, the possibilities of action are endless. The organization is working hard for Haitian women not only in the United States but also in Haiti. Fanm Kreyol, Inc. wants to be the voice for Haitian women and believes through education, discipline and drive the possibilities are endless.
Ruth Georges was born in Port-Au- Prince Haiti and moved to the United States in 1990. She graduated from the University of South Florida with a double major in Interdisciplinary Social Science with a concentration in Africana Studies & Psychology and a second degree in Women & Gender Studies. At a young age Ruth possessed a natural desire for public service and that commitment transcended through extracurricular activities. To further her studies and experience in public service in 2015, Ruth attained a Graduate Certificate in Gender, Leadership & Public Policy from the Center of Women in Politics & Public Policy at the University of Massachusetts Boston. As a graduate of this program, Ruth was named the Poly Logan Scholar and she was elected as one of the class representatives in her graduate program. Additionally, she was recognized for her outstanding leadership and public service. Since successfully completing her program, Ruth was appointed by Mayor Martin J. Walsh as the Mattapan & Dorchester Community Liaison and Haitian Liaison for the City of Boston.
Through her feminist-womanist passion to serve, Ruth cofounded Fanm Kreyol, Inc. This organization is important to her as, she truly believes that women who are empowered can make remarkable changes locally and nationally.
Ruth lives by the following quote "Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light not our darkness that most frightens us.". –Marianne Williamson.
Marie Grandoit was born in Port-au- Prince, Haiti but was raised in the United States for most of her life. She graduated from the University of South Florida with a Bachelor in Criminology and a minor in Biology and Africana Studies. It has always been her belief that education is the key to success. As such, upon graduating from college, she pursued her Juris Doctor at Suffolk University Law School. Marie has always been passionate and committed to a career in law and public service. It is her passion for Civic engagement and community enrichment that led her to cofounding Fanm Kreyol, Inc. This organization is important to her because she believes in order to effectuate change and grow as a people we must Empower Haitian Women to become leaders in our community; because she believes women play a vital role in our societal success.
Marie lives by the following quote, "you are not here merely to make a living. You are here in order to enable the world to live more amply, with greater vision, with a finer spirit of hope and achievement. You are here to enrich the world, and you impoverish yourself if you forget the errand."
